Silvio Capeccia

Silvio Capeccia's passion for music manifested itself early on: in 1972, at the age of fifteen, he founded the college band 'Champagne Molotov' with his contemporary Enrico Ruggeri, which stood out on the Italian scene for its innovative repertoire (Roxy Music, Sparks and Velvet Underground). The band soon changed its name to 'Decibel' and reached the general public thanks to its participation in the 1980 Sanremo Festival with the song 'Contessa'. The resounding success took Decibel around Italy in the following years, including tours, radio and TV broadcasts and press reports. The album 'Vivo da re' was released in that period, in which Silvio Capeccia signed the music for five songs, including 'Vivo da re' itself, still included in various compilations. Following Ruggeri's solo choice, Decibel released two albums: the decadent 'Novecento', produced by Alessandro Colombini and Mauro Paoluzzi, and the new age 'Desaparecida', produced by Shel Shapiro and Marco Zanoni for the Californian label 'Mp3.com' (see www.decibelmusic.com). After completing his piano and composition studies and graduating in Marketing at Milan's Bocconi University, Silvio began his fascinating journey into the world of ambient music. His productions are used in different artistic situations: contemporary painting exhibitions, audiovisual installations, theatre monologues, neuro-marketing experiments, multimedia events, wellness resorts. In 2010, after participating in two unplugged concerts by Enrico Ruggeri at the Teatro Blu in Milan, he was invited as a guest by Enrico himself at the 60th edition of the Sanremo Festival. Recently, Silvio Capeccia composed the eight tracks that make up the sound material of 'Psychoacoustic brain power', the project by music therapist Fulvio Muzio in which the listener is progressively taken from the mental phase of alert attention to deep relaxation. In May 2014, a workshop with live demonstration of the entire project was held at the Faculty of Psychology of the Catholic University of Milan (course held by Prof. Dario Benatti); on 8 May 2015, the full performance of the new 432 Hz version was presented at Oxy.gen in Milan. This is how Capeccia's ambient music was reviewed on the web: "... sounds that caress the senses and make the heartstrings vibrate, his music leads the mind to an oasis of tranquillity...".
