Silvio Barisone

Graduated in guitar, harmony and jazz improvisation with full marks and graduated in classical guitar at the Conservatorio Statale Vivaldi in Alessandria. Graduated in MUSIC THERAPY at A.P.I.M. (Italian professional association of music therapists) section A.N.F.A.S. of Genoa under the patronage of the Department of Psychiatric Sciences of the University of Genoa. Since 2006 he has been teaching at the Jazz Centre in Turin. Among other teaching activities he teaches classical and electric guitar at the music school Corale Città di Acqui Terme; he also carries out music therapy activities at the nursery and primary schools of the Vesime circle. From 2001 to 2003 she worked at the Doria Institute in Genoa as a music therapist for comatose children, where she wrote her thesis entitled "music and coma", a thesis which is still held at the University of Medicine in Genoa. Since 2002 he has been holding seminars and music therapy courses for nursery and primary school teachers. He is a guitar teacher at secondary school. His musical activity is very intense, ranging from jazz to classical and pop music, with collaborations with jazz musicians such as Tullio De Piscopo, Gianpaolo Casati, Felice Reggio, Pino Russo, Claudio Capurro, Paul Jeffrey and Donovan Mixon. In 1999 he took part in the Salone della musica in Turin, sharing the stage with artists such as Lucio Dalla, Biagio Antonacci, Luca Carboni, Bobby Solo and Max Pezzali. He has given many concerts: from jazz trio or quartet to classical music concerts for solo guitar and light music concerts. He is also the director of the gospel group L'amalgama, where he takes care of the arrangements and compositions. Since 2000, he has held exhibitions and seminars on ethnic instruments. In 2011, he released his new album, "Leonardo", dedicated to his son, 7 songs written and played for solo guitar. In 2015 he released his second album, "Travel", 9 tracks between Jazz, Smooth Jazz, Funky and Latin.
