Francesco Tanzi

Francesco Tanzi (1994) is a cellist from Apulia. He graduated with top marks under the guidance of M° Marcello Forte at the Conservatorio "N. Rota" in Monopoli and graduated with honours in Philosophy from the Università degli Studi "A. Moro" in Bari with a thesis entitled Questions of Virtue in Platonic Dialogues.

Performed for VIII and IX reviews Young Concert Artists of the Associazione Amici della Musica di Monopoli and for the Talenti Nursery of EXPO Milan 2015. As a soloist he was the first performer in the double concert Hana Bi for cello, double bass and cello orchestra by G. Mirto.

He has collaborated with the Orchestra of the Metropolitan City of Bari, the ICO Magna Grecia of Taranto (of which he was first cello), the Philharmonic Orchestra of Benevento, the EMF Orchestra of Lanciano, the Orchestra 1813 of the Teatro Sociale of Como and the UniMi Orchestra, meeting conductors and soloists of international calibre.

For several years he was a member of the Nino Rota' Cello Ensemble. With the ApuliaCelloSoloist he was able to collaborate with G. Sollima and recorded a disc featuring his arrangement of the Romanza by N. van Westerhout. Col Zuena Quartet won the first edition of the MaMu Cello Tenzone with his original song Mare Nostrum.
