The GREENSLEEVES GOSPEL CHOIR (GGC) was founded in 1992, thanks to Fausto Caravati's initiative to bring together young people eager to express themselves through Gospel music. In the 15 years since its inception, the G.G.C. has performed in around 500 concerts held in churches, theatres and squares in Italy and abroad; as well as on some of the major Italian and international music stages. The GCC has performed charity concerts in favour of Amnesty International and numerous other events. It also boasts several appearances in television and record productions. In December 1998, it performed Robert Ray's Gospel Mass for the first time in Italy. In December 2002, for the tenth anniversary of its foundation, it performed the Christmas concert Christmas is Coming accompanied by the New Garden Pop Orchestra. In June 1995 and October 1999, it participated in the INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION FOR JAZZ AND GOSPEL CHOIRS "IN...CANTO SUL GARDA", winning the gold diploma in its category on both occasions. In May 2004, it was awarded as the best choir in the Jazz & Spirituals category at the CONCORSO NAZIONALE di Quartiano (LO). In September 1997, "The Gospel Train" was released, the choir's first recording engagement, which was followed in January 1999 by the release of the first Live CD "Everybody Let's Praise The Lord". In 2001, a song from this album was included in the first Italian Gospel Explosion collection. In December 2004, the third CD was released: Everything I desire produced and distributed by Echeo, which also includes a track performed by the children's choir. The ensemble currently consists of 25 choristers accompanied by a 6-piece band directed by Fausto Caravati. Link:
