The S.A.C.S. are a vocal ensemble from Treviso. They interpret spirituals by searching for their true meaning, while respecting the beliefs and culture from which they originate.<\/p>\n
By adopting a cappella music, the inspiration of black Americans in the performance of spirituals is best expressed. Their repertoire moves from the origins of Afro-American music, tracing and reliving feelings and sensations that moved the blacks of America to these songs: suffering, pain, deprivation, but also faith, hope, joy, love.<\/p>\n
Not a simple performance of songs but a moment of reflection on a musical genre that gave hope to an afflicted and oppressed people, yet so alive and strong.<\/p>\n
Winners of the Silver Medal in the Gospel & Spirituals category at the 21st 'F.Gaffurio' National Choral Competition, they have to their credit performances at the Teatro Sociale in Treviso, at the Teatro Accademico in Castelfranco Veneto, participations at the Buskers Festival in Ferrara and at the Venice Carnival events, concerts at the Madonna di Loreto and in Recanati. The S.A.C.S. continue their journey through the Spiritual by taking part in numerous masterclasses and seminars: in 2002 they took part in the first Italian A Cappella Summit; they perfected their skills with Simon Carrington, founder and voice of the King's Singers, at the 5th International Choral Review \"Citt\u00e0 di Mondov\u00ed\".<\/p>\n
July 2003 saw Masterclasses by Ciro Caravano (Neri Per Caso), Andrea Figallo (Flying Pickets), Wes Carroll and Deke Sharon (The House Jacks), held in Varese during Solevoci A Cappella Festival. In December 2004, the concerts organised for the release of their first CD I.can.tell.the.world were enthusiastically received by the public, so much so that an immediate reissue was necessary.<\/p>\n
