Rondorico is a sort of journey, an evocative path. As the title suggests, the form of the rondo is expressed in the Doric mode, which dominates unchallenged from beginning to end and gives the piece a vaguely narrative, almost mysterious dimension. The main motif is characterised as a veritable refrain that returns unchanged between one episode and another of the rondo, and also acts as the conclusion of the piece, emphasised by the soft and delicate timbre of the harp quartet.
