Released on the Preludio label, 'Di albe e di tramonti' is the album by Coratino composer Antonio Molinini, with the special collaboration of trumpeter Fabrizio Bosso. The album consists of thirteen tracks and is structured in four seasons of the soul, inspired by the composer's real life experiences. "It is a long journey,' says Molinini, 'a sort of time travel interspersed with three 'bridges', almost as if to connect these four seasons as four moments of the heart. The bridges are three pieces for 'piano solo' performed by me. While maintaining a basic linguistic coherence and my own harmonic, melodic and structural compositional style, the beauty of this record is its variety." Indeed, the record alternates Latin moments (bossa, samba, salsa and even a mock milonga) with decidedly more Western ballads and swing. In addition to Molinini himself on piano and Fabrizio Bosso on trumpet, the band consists of Pippo Lombardo (piano), Antonio Tosques (guitar), Beppe Sequestro (bass), Dario Riccardo (drums) and Cesare Pastanella (percussion). This is the disc's tracklist: Self Confidence, Holidays in Italy, Gratitude, Doctor P., Three Kinds of Smile, Sambakarine, A primavera, Di albe e di tramonti, Tango de mi pasión, Moriste en Navidad, Bossa per l'estate, El corazón que espera, Stefy, Rum and Chocolate. A work, Molinini's, that touched the chords of trumpeter Fabrizio Bosso. "It was an honour to see a great musician like Fabrizio Bosso accept the collaboration for this recording of mine and to hear him play my music. It created a really nice atmosphere, pleasant, friendly and full of mutual respect,' says a satisfied Molinini, who is already working to organise a live performance of the record.
