Sentieri selvaggi, one of Italy's leading contemporary classical music ensembles directed by Carlo Boccadoro, invited Eugenio Finardi to join them for a project on the work of the great Russian singer-songwriter Vladimir Vysotsky, whose songs have been rethought and transcribed by Filippo Del Corno, one of the most successful composers of recent generations. Thus was born the project "Il Cantante Al Microfono", which debuted live with great success at the Teatro dell'Elfo in Milan on 21 May 2007, and was a guest at the Mantua Literature Festival in September of the same year. In December 2007, Finardi and Sentieri selvaggi went into the studio to record the album, which was to win the Tenco prize for best performing album in 2008.
È now available the DVD of the same name, which is none other than the recording of a concert from that tour, specifically the concert held at Monfalcone's Teatro Comunale on 11 November 2008. Twelve songs that enhance Eugenio Finardi's excellent interpretative as well as vocal skills and the musical precision of the Sentieri Selvaggi ensemble directed by Carlo Boccadoro. Special contents on the DVD include a behind-the-scenes look at the "Il Cantante al Microfono" project and the lyrics in Italian translation edited by Sergio Secondiano Sacchi.
