Alessio Manega was born in Soave in 1990. He obtained his High School diploma at the N. Nani Art Institute in Verona and studied electric guitar at the LAMS in Verona with professors Rodolfo Speri and Roberto Vanni. He is currently enrolled in the 10th year of Composition, in the traditional order, at the Conservatorio E.F. Dall'Abaco in Verona under the guidance of M° Federico Zandonà (graduation in September 2017). He also studied conducting under the guidance of M° Romolo Gessi at the European Conducting Academy in Vicenza. He has collaborated with the Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto (OPV) and the Orchestra Regionale Filarmonica Veneta. He has participated in conducting masterclasses held by Maestro Lior Shambadal (permanent conductor of the Berliner Symphoniker). He is the winner of various national and international competitions including: - in 2016 winner of the 1st prize at the International Competition 2 Agosto, Bologna (recorded and broadcast on Radio 3 and Rai 5); - in 2016 winner of the 1st prize at the International Competition I ed. "Musica&Natura", Sassello. - in 2016 winner of the 2nd prize at the International Competition "Michele Novaro", Turin (recorded and broadcast on Radio 3); - in 2016 mention of merit at the International Competition "Romualdo Marenco", Novi Ligure; - in 2015 winner of the 1st prize at the International Competition "Gramatio Metallo", Avellino; - in 2015 winner of the 1st prize at the European Competition Eutopia Ensemble, Genoa; - in 2015 winner of the 1st prize in the original composition category of the Competition Banca Popolare, Verona; - in 2013 reported at the International Competition "Ilaria Rambaldi" and winner of the audience prize; - in 2013 winner of the 2nd prize in the arrangement category of the BPV Competition; - in 2012 winner of the 1st prize in the original composition category of the BPV Competition; - in 2011 winner of the 2nd prize in the arrangement category of the BPV Competition and reported in the original composition category. First performances of his pieces have taken place in Italy, Switzerland and the United States. He has collaborated in Italian and international premieres with compositions written specifically for Eutopia Ensemble (Genoa), Ensemble Zenit 2000 (Avellino), Ensemble Fontana mix (Bologna), Altre voci Ensemble (Modena), Orchestra Filarmonica del Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Ensemble Musica Contemporanea (Turin) and clarinettist Guido Arbonelli.
